The University of Toledo Moot Court

Welcome From The Moot Court Board!

Moot Court at the University of Toledo helps build excellence in the art of oral advocacy and brief writing through participation in national, sometimes international appellate advocacy and arbitration competitions.  It is managed by the Moot Court Board.  The numerous intruiguing legal problems challenge the Moot Court Board Members to deal with a variety of legal issues drawn from different areas of the law.  The experience is a rich a rewarding one, and is professionally important.  Each competition presents awards for outstanding briefs and oral presentation.  View the Moot Court Bylaws here.

The Moot Court Board consists of 2L and 3L students who compete for a spot on the board, and the privilege of representing The University of Toledo on a National level at each competition.  In addition, the Moot Court Board also manages the intra-school appellate advocacy competition open to 1L students. The Charles W. Fornoff Intra-School Competition is an excellent way for students to showcase their talents, and compete against their peers.

The Moot Court Board is the proud winner of the 2009 Softball Tournament versus Law Review, as well as the 2009 Football game versus Law Review!  The Moot Court Board participates in competitions against The Univerity of Toledo Law Review each year.  The annual football competition is held each Fall, with the Softball tournament being held in the Spring.   Moot Court shirts are available for all members...pick up yours today!
